Imposter Syndrome is a constant nagging for the product owner. When we compiled a list of advice for new product owners, we noticed a theme that even after 20 years or more in the role seasoned product owners would confess, "I'm not sure I even know what I am doing." That's why we are so excited to host this special webinar to dive into the persistence of imposter syndrome in the product owner role.

In a short webinar, Alicia McLain will explain how imposter syndrome affects various aspects of the product owner role including:

  • The product itself, because your experience is on one side of the spectrum and you need both sides to be considered ‘competent’
  • With navigating the organizational dynamics and collaborating towards outcomes of product backlog refinement and prioritization
  • With saving “NO” to people with grace, especially executive types
  • With working with a technical team, when your experience with the product is more customer-focused and oriented - Working in tools like JIRA, etc… when that’s not your ‘happy place’
  • When you’re a woman that is a Product Owner in a mostly male organization’
  • When you’re a person of color in a Product Owner role and you’re in a mostly white male organization

This webinar is about how to develop self-command so you can lead from a place of ‘sage’ thinking vs saboteur thinking, and not let all of that ‘stuff’ get in the way of you doing your best work.

Follow-up the webinar with the Q&A for additional insights from Alicia
