Scrum Alliance is a Great Place to Work

It's official. Scrum Alliance has earned the Great Place to Work® certification for the second year in a row!

An average adult in the U.S. will spend 90,000 hours of their lives at work, according to research by Harvard University. That's a third of an average adult's life! Given how significantly our careers impact our lives, shouldn't we build thriving, rewarding, and supportive work environments?

Scrum Alliance is committed to creating a positive work culture and a space where every employee feels respected and valued. That's why our organization is beyond thrilled to have received Great Place to Work® certification for the second year in a row.

What's Great Place to Work® Certification?

It's a prestigious recognition unlike any other because it's based entirely on what our employees say about working here. It's globally recognized and research-backed.

Using a standardized survey, the Great Place to Work organization asks employees about:

  • Their trust in their employer
  • Fair compensation packages and practices
  • The value of perks and benefits
  • How they feel about the leadership team
  • The consistency of their experience at work

Using the survey responses, Great Place To Work decides whether to award certification. Every year, more than 10,000 companies in 60 countries apply to become Great Place To Work certified.

“It’s a rare thing to look forward to work every day, and even more so to look forward to getting back to work after a vacation. Both of these things are true for me, due to a culture created by a little luck, the right people, and a lot of hard work. I’m very thankful I can tell people I like my job, and mean it.”

- Dave, scrum master

What's Scrum Alliance Doing to be a Great Place to Work?

We care about putting people first. As an agile organization, Scrum Alliance believes in respecting and empowering everyone who works here. After all, agile is not just about incremental product delivery and adaptability to change. It's also about making work fun and rewarding, valuing each person's unique contributions and expertise, and recognizing the importance of interactions and collaboration.

We're committed to creating an outstanding employee experience. And we know that means putting in the work to make it so, not just paying lip service to the idea.

"We're thrilled to receive Great Place To Work certification for the second year in a row because employee experience and company culture are top priorities. We couldn't do it without the exceptional team we have, and we are proud to acknowledge their remarkable effort, resilience, and role in making Scrum Alliance one of the best places to work on Earth."

- Tristan, chief executive officer

Scrum Alliance Employee-Centered Initiatives

  • Professional development. All employees receive up to $1,000 annually for professional growth. They choose whether to spend it on conferences, certifications, books, training, or other relevant professional development.
  • Focus on inclusion and belonging. Scrum Alliance is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment. One way we do so is by organizing inclusive Global Scrum Gatherings. In 2024, we selected speakers and panelists from diverse backgrounds and partnered with organizations like Women in Agile and Agile in Color to bring wide-ranging perspectives and voices to these events. The annual event also included captioning for greater accessibility and a low sensory room.
  • Employee recognition. We utilize an app called Bonusly for employees to recognize and reward each other's contributions, and we celebrate "Monthly Culture Days" with surprises like branded gifts, extra time off, and fun incentives. For Earth Day, we planted a tree in honor of every employee and gave our team a few hours off to get outdoors and enjoy nature.
  • Work-life balance and flexibility. Our "Take What You Need" policy offers flexible vacation and personal time. We prioritize employee wellness, including paid sick time and an Employee Assistance Program that provides help and resources for financial health, mental health, parenting, senior care, and more. Medical benefits are 100 percent covered after two years of employment.
  • Employee feedback. Through the app Officevibe, employees share regular anonymous feedback for leadership. This provides the leadership team with insights and direction for sustaining a positive culture and understanding the employee experience.
  • Charitable giving. Scrum Alliance regularly donates to charitable and non-profit causes. We've made donations to Stop Soldier Suicide and matched employee contributions to Operation Gratitude and the Wounded Warrior Project. We also donated computer equipment to local schools in Denver.

As an organization, we strive to continuously improve our culture, and we'll continue to do so by seeking feedback and listening to our team members.
