Like many of us in the agile community, I spend a lot of time working with leaders in organizations trying to coach and embed agile values, principles and practices. While organizations can be quick to change processes. Structures and ways of working the thing that we always struggle with is a shift in leadership behavior.

We see the community littered with ideas about how to make this happen. How many times have you see a speaker or writer in the agile industry share THE answer to agile leadership? Some framework or model or set of principles? (guilty!!). But how do we know what will really work?

To get a real idea of agile leadership, we have to gather data from those who do it every day. And we’ve found that there’s not a lot of research on this topic.

  • What capabilities, qualities, and experiences differentiate agile leaders?
  • How do these agile capabilities differ from more traditional organizations?
  • What are the main people pain points for agile organizations?
  • How does your current crop of leaders) stack up?
  • We used input from agile leaders across multiple sectors around the world to design an agile leader survey. We’d now like to hear the perspective of agile leaders and coaches like you.
  • The findings will enable us to build a comprehensive picture of what “good” looks like.

Please take this opportunity to share your perspective and help shape this evolving leadership field.
