Scrum Alliance Has Redefined Its Mission and Vision Globally

Scrum Alliance

The world of work looks very different today than it did when Scrum Alliance was founded.

In just the past few years, professionals and organizations have faced sweeping change, driven by AI and automation, economic shifts, and evolving expectations for how work gets done. These forces have reshaped industries, roles, and career paths, creating both unprecedented challenges and new opportunities.

In this environment, one truth stands out: agility has never been more vital.

Agility is no longer defined by a role, a framework, or a team structure. It is a skill set that enables individuals and enterprises to adapt, innovate, and deliver value amid uncertainty.

Revisiting the Scrum Alliance mission and vision

In 2025, Scrum Alliance engaged in a period of strategic reflection to consider who we are—and who we must become—to serve professionals in a rapidly transforming landscape.

Under the direction of the Scrum Alliance Board of Directors, we embarked on a thoughtful process to revisit our mission and vision. Over the course of the year, we engaged in workshops with our board, executive team, and staff, and invited feedback from members through surveys that reached across our global community.

"In an era of rapid change, clarity is a competitive advantage," said Tracee Aliotti, Chief Marketing Officer of Scrum Alliance. "An effective mission must clearly articulate who you serve, how, and why, while the vision paints a picture of the ultimate reality we are striving to create. These new statements ensure our mission readies us for action while our vision inspires belief."

This wasn't about abandoning our roots. It was about ensuring our guiding statements reflect today's reality while honoring the foundation that brought us here.

What emerged

The result is a refreshed mission and vision that looks boldly to the future while staying grounded in our purpose: supporting professionals and organizations as agility continues to evolve.

Our mission
We enable professionals to solve complex problems and deliver value efficiently through agile education, skills recognition, and connection to a global community of experts.

Our vision
We envision a world where agile is for anyone—fostering collaboration, adaptability, and better outcomes for all.

Together, these statements reinforce a simple but powerful belief: agility works best when it's accessible, adaptable, and inclusive.

Agility as skills for anyone

As AI, automation, and shifting expectations redefine work, agility has become a universal capability. Today, agile-related skills are used across roles, disciplines, and industries, not just within traditional delivery teams.

Scrum Alliance's vision of Agile for Anyone™ reflects this reality. We are committed to equipping professionals everywhere with the mindsets, skills, and community they need to navigate complexity and lead through change—no matter their role or context.

Looking ahead

This evolution marks a new chapter. Our commitment remains the same: to serve professionals like you and organizations worldwide with education, skills recognition, and connection while guided by our values of Courage, Openness, Respect, Focus, and Commitment.

As the world continues to change, we will continue to listen, learn, and evolve alongside our global community.

Together, we're building a more agile world. Join us and build the skills you need in order to adopt AI, supercharge collaboration, and deliver outstanding value to your customers and stakeholders.
