At Scrum Alliance, we envision a world where agile is for anyone—fostering collaboration, adaptability, and better outcomes for all. Achieving this requires a leadership team that balances community-driven passion with strategic oversight.
Today, we're excited to announce two outstanding additions to the Scrum Alliance Board of Directors: Roger Chou (Member-Elected Director) and Joe Falcao (Board-Appointed Director).
Our governance structure ensures a balance between directors elected directly by our global membership and those appointed for specialized institutional expertise.
Roger Chou
Elected by Scrum Alliance members to serve as a Member-Elected Director, Roger brings a history of grassroots community building and high-level executive training. As Taiwan's first Certified Scrum Trainer® (CST®), Roger has field-tested a powerful strategy for organizational growth: bringing scrum directly to the boardroom.
Roger has personally trained over 300 CEOs as Certified ScrumMasters® and more than 100 as Certified Scrum Product Owners®. He also founded the Taiwan Agile Tribe (4,500+ members) and spearheaded the Regional Scrum Gathering Taipei. He holds a PhD in strategic management and an ICF-PCC coaching credential.
"I train leaders in scrum because leadership is where the hardest decisions—and the biggest gaps between strategy and delivery—actually live," said Chou. "Agility is not just a delivery technique for teams; it is a discipline for the people who shape what an organization becomes. I am honored to carry that conviction onto this board. My goal is to ensure that the voice of every member is represented at the highest level of our organization."
Joe Falcao
Appointed directly by the board, Joe Falcao has over 25 years of global financial leadership. Joe specializes in designing robust finance functions, enhancing organizational sustainability, and providing risk oversight and governance for complex global operations.
Joe's career includes living and working in seven countries (including Brazil, Belgium, India, and Malaysia). Joe currently serves as Chief Financial Officer of Bose Professional, where he supports the company's continued global expansion and the scaling of its financial and operational capabilities as an independent business.
Earlier, Joe held senior finance leadership roles at high-growth companies, including Thrasio, where he helped build financial capabilities during a period of rapid global scale.
Joe's financial stewardship and deep understanding of international markets will support Scrum Alliance as a sustainable, high-impact 501(c)(6) nonprofit for our expanding global community.
"I've spent 25 years helping organizations grow through complexity—and the common thread in every success story has been agility: the discipline to learn fast, focus on what matters most, and empower teams to deliver," said Falcao. "Scrum Alliance is at the heart of that movement, and I'm deeply honored to serve on its board at such a pivotal moment."
Looking ahead
The addition of both Roger and Joe marks a strong chapter for Scrum Alliance. Together, their combined expertise in community building, strategic management, and global financial stewardship will guide our organization toward a stable, sustainable future.
Please join us in celebrating and welcoming Roger and Joe to the Scrum Alliance Board of Directors!
