Course details

Regardless of a team’s skill set, level of expertise, or self-sufficiency, there’s a chance deliverables can be stalled by dependencies. Let’s examine how we can not only understand dependencies but also manage and resolve them efficiently.

This course is likely to take you an hour as we discuss the definition of dependencies and how to visualize them, the different types of dependencies, and multiple techniques to help manage them.

This course is aligned with the following  Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) learning objectives: 

  • 2.1 Describe at least three situations in which the Scrum Master could serve the needs of the Scrum Team or organization through facilitation.
  • 2.2 Demonstrate at least three techniques for facilitating group decision making.

About the author

Peter Borsella

Peter Borsella is the founder of Winnow Management, established in 2005 and based in Pompano Beach, Florida, and co-founder of Big Orange Square, established in 2017 and based in Erie, Colorado.  Peter’s professional history began in software development, then moved into project management, and eventually into executive management.

In addition to being a Certified ScrumMaster Trainer, he is also a Project Management Professional (certified by the PMI), and a Certified Large-Scale Scrum Practitioner (certified by The Less Company).  His ability to train and coach across a wide range of environments has taken him from startups to internationals, from software to radar systems, from the United States to Taiwan, Israel, and Hungary. 

Peter is adept in administering all aspects of product delivery while providing authentic leadership to create effective teams.  An active and contributing member to both the PMI and the Scrum Alliance, Peter’s speaking engagements focus on bridging the gap between traditional project management and Agile product delivery.  His goal is to help others understand how to get the best return from any investment of effort by achieving higher levels of quality, reduced risk, increased customer satisfaction, and happy, cohesive teams.
