Denver is a beautiful city with lots of unique things to offer visitors. Whether it’s your first or fifth time being in the mile high city, there’s always something new to experience. With countless new restaurants popping up, activities, and sightseeing opportunities, your visit is sure to be jam packed. The following are some fun things to do in Denver while visiting for Gloabal Scrum Gathering Denver 2022 without having to travel more than 15 minutes from the venue.
Denver Art Museum is only a ten-minute walk from the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel. Aside from the buildings being works of art in their own right, there are many collections on display that rotate throughout the year. A new collection Age of Armor will be on display in June during the Gathering, highlighting how armor was shaped overtime.
The Denver Botanic Gardens is an eight-minute drive or Uber/Lyft from the hotel. Always an amazing sight with a wide span of plant species ranging from tropical to desert, even aquatic varieties, the Botanic Gardens also has a Summer Concert Series offering great live music in beautiful surroundings.
Denver Zoo is an 11-minute drive or Uber/Lyft from the Sheraton. With a large display of large and small animals, it’s fun for all ages.
Meow Wolf this new immersive, mind-bending interactive museum is less than a minute’s walk from Mile-High Station, our venue for Monday Mingle—our special social/networking event on the evening of Monday, June 6th.
Within walking distance from the venue, Union Station, is a historical landmark like no other. First opening its doors in the 1800s as the largest building in the West, Union Stations travels visitors to a time period while staying lavish.
A nine-minute drive from the Sheraton is Coors Field, the heart of Denver activities during baseball season. Even when a game is not going on the gift shop and part of the stadium are open to visitors. The National Ballpark Museum is a short walk from the stadium and is a one of a kind stop for all of baseball stadium history.
Across the street from Coors Field is McGregor Square which is a great place to hang out and relax outside. McGregor Square has everything from outdoor movies and music to food and drinks.
Washington Park is a 13-minute drive or Uber/Lyft from the hotel. The park is known for its vast open greenspace and benches perfect for people watching. It’s a great place to walk around and experience the nice weather. There are also two large lakes within the park offering boat rides and paddle board rentals.
Just outside the doors of the Denver Sheraton the 16th Street Mall has 42 outdoor cafes and restaurants accompanied by movie theaters and shops. A great place to shop, eat, and be amused by street performers or other vendors.
Williams and Graham is a modern day speakeasy. This destination has a wide variety of cocktails and classic dining room menu to match.
Food halls are a great way for people to go out to dinner and each get the kind of food they want. Many great food halls are located all around Denver and Avanti is a great one, with both inside and outside seating. And It's just a short 12-minute drive or Uber/Lyft away.
There is no shortage in great restaurants that are in close proximity to the Denver Sheraton as well so don’t be afraid to explore new places.
